R-Lipoic Acid Buyer Beware:

Price is not the bottom line and is no guarantee when it comes to RLA quality!

Numerous RLA containing products have appeared on the market in the last few years. From our own hands on experience, we discovered how difficult this compound is to work with. RLA is unstable and readily polymerizes during manufacturing, storage and in the processing into nutritional supplements.

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE & PRODUCT LIABILITY

We began to collect and analyze our competitor's products to see howi they were matching up. We discovered there is a wide range of problems in lipoic acid products, including:

Poor quality starting material

Adulteration with racemic ALA

Extensive polymerization in finished tablets and capsules.

HANDS ON EXPERIENCE

We discovered that the polymer was composed of a linear chain of disulfides with the carboxyl groups free. After working on this for several months, we were surprised to discover that the polymer issue was already known, relative to racemic ALA (DL-alpha lipoic acid) and had been reported by American chemists in the Journal of The American Chemical Society in 1956. Pure RLA has a lower melting point than the racemate and is more prone to polymerization.

R Lipoic Acid IN FINISHED PRODUCTS

Even under the best conditions, RLA is unstable. It must be processed at an extremely low temperature after blending, as well as processed in an oxygen free, low humidity environment (water is acidic enough to initiate useless polymer formation). The final tablets or capsules must be tested for polymer content. Most manufacturers of finished products are unaware of the problems involved in encapsulating and tableting RLA. Considering the results of our independent analysis of these products, the manufacturers are either not testing their finished goods or are relying on independent analytical labs, inexperienced in the testing of RLA products.

Even though the industry is just learning about the value of RLA, HUMAX has already made basic RLA itself obsolete by offering a heat stable, non-polymeric potassium salt form; free of residual solvents and moisture.

HUMAX offers the best and most consistent quality RLA containing products at the fairest price. Are you consuming RLA of unknown quality?

QUALITY CONTROL

We implement tight quality control protocols during every step of the manufacturing process in order to insure batch to batch consistency. The product is tested using both polarimetry and enantioselective HPLC (which reveals the ratio of natural ÒRÓ and less useful ÒSÓ Lipoic Acid isomers, as well as total useless polymer content) at the production facility. Before processing the raw material further into Potassium R-Lipoate capsules, the results from all our facilities are carefully examined and reviewed.

After processing RLA into Potassium R-Lipoate, the material is retested independently for the RLA content of the individual batch to insure low polymer content and that we have met our strict specifications.

When you buy HUMAX R-Lipoic Acid you can be sure you are buying the best quality available that will withstand independent analysis.

All HUMAX products are processed in US cGMP, FDA approved facilities and meet the highest standards of quality and purity.
